Uplynulé ročníky festivalu ostravských činoherních divadel OST-RA-VAR
Historie festivalu
Festival v roce 1997 založili režiséři Juraj Deák a Radovan Lipus a dramaturgové Marek Pivovar a Alice Taussiková. V nultém ročníku nesl pojmenování Festival ostravských divadel, od roku 1999 probíhal pod názvem Festival ostravských činoherních divadel, název OST-RA-VAR, odkazující k tradičnímu ostravskému pivu a zároveň evokující intenzivní divadelní vření, byl poprvé použit v roce 2000. Akci pořádá činohra Národního divadla moravskoslezského ve spolupráci s Komorní scénou Aréna, Divadlem Petra Bezruče a dalšími spřátelenými subjekty.
Festival ostravských činoherních divadel vytváří prostor pro kritickou reflexi současného divadla. Je určen českým, slovenským i polským divadelním pedagogům, kritikům a teoretikům, kulturním redaktorům a divadelníkům, stejně jako studentům vysokých divadelních škol (praktických i teoretických) – tedy všem těm, kdo mají divadlo jako hlavní náplň pracovní či studijní. Smyslem OST-RA-VARu je v několika dnech nabídnout reprezentativní průřez tvorbou ostravských profesionálních činoherních souborů daného roku (14–16 inscenací). Stěžejní část festivalu tvoří kritické rozbory zhlédnutých inscenací studentů po boku zkušených kritiků, které jsou vstupem k následným diskusím všech účastníků. Jedná se o jediný festival svého druhu v České republice, který se zařadil mezi renomované tuzemské divadelní události.
